Toddlers: Will learn their colors, numbers 1-5, many new words, lots of
songs/rhymes for promoting language and literacy.
Two-Year Olds: Will
learn many things about the world they live in. They will count
1-25 and recognize the numbers 1-10. They will learn colors,
shapes and language development.
Three-Year Olds: Will
learn names, sounds, and pictures of all letters of the alphabet,
count 1-50 and recognize numbers 1-15.
Language development will be taught every day. Phonics will be
taught M/W/F. Numbers will be taught T/Th.
Four-Year Olds: Will learn to recognize vowels and consonants.
They will learn to blend two letters together and to sound out
one-vowel words. They will learn to write each of the small letters
of the alphabet first, then the capital letters.
Four-year olds learn to recognize and understand the concepts
of numbers. By the end of the year, they will be able to count
from 1-100, recognize 1-20, distinguish before and after numbers
and answer simple combinations.
Kindergarten: Will learn to read through the use of phonics.
As soon as the short sounds of the vowles and the sounds of only
three consonants are introduced, they will be able to sound out
their first words. Later they learn to read many more words including
words with two vowels and words that contain special sounds (special
sounds are letter combinations like sh & ar). Their reading vocabulary
naturally grows with each new sound learned.
In numbers, the student will learn to count and recognize numbers
1-100. Addition concepts are taught up through the sum of 10
and beginning subtraction concepts are introduced. Students also
learn to tell time and work with money. |
